Easter Provides a Great Moment to Spring Forward!
As Anna lay dying of cancer, her hospice nurse gently answered her gently spoken, difficult questions. Through this nurse’s comforting responses, Anna and her family’s anxieties lessened helping them to care for her with increased strength and faith as her life waned. This nurse's compassionate manner helped everyone at her bedside turn things around.
At Easter, we celebrate Jesus the messiah, who helped turn things around too. He did this when He walked the earth and in His last moments with us. If Jesus saw people maimed, He made them whole. If they were disappointed, He gave them hope. If in sin, He forgave them. And when death arrived, He replaced it with eternal life. Yes, Jesus is the turn-around savior.
During these coming Easter days, we are reminded that we now have the grace to turn things around in our lives. We can easily bring brightness, healing, and vigor to areas that need changes.
Easter points the way and Jesus shows us how. This is why we again sing, "Alleluia" on Easter Sunday. We can thanks to a caring, compassionate, loving savior. We can turn our lives around. Coming as it does in spring, the Easter season provides the perfect environment to regroup, rethink, repent and reawaken every aspect of our lives that may need the fresh breeze of rejuvenation
Not just our clocks, but spiritually, it's a wonderful season to spring forward. St. Francis de Sales didn't have daylight saving time, but he did understand what springing forward meant when he wrote:
"We must sometime take a step backward in order to better spring forward."
