At Easter Jesus Turns Everything Around!
As my sister lay dying of cancer, her hospice nurse gently answered our awkward questions. Through her comforting words, our anxieties disappeared and we responded to my sister's pain with strength and faith. This nurse's care helped us "turn things around." Jesus helped "turn things around" too. If people were maimed, He made them whole. If they felt sad, He gave them hope. If in sin, He provided healing. And when death arrived, He replaced it with eternal life. Yes, Jesus is a "turn around" savior.
During these post Easter days, we are reminded that we now have the grace to "turn things around in our lives." We can easily bring brightness, healing, and strength to areas that need a change.
Easter points the way, and Jesus teaches us how. This is why we shout, "Alleluia!" We can "turn our lives around." Coming as it does in spring, the Easter season provides the perfect time to regroup, rethink, repent and awaken. Spiritually, it's a wonderful time to "spring forward."
Now, St. Francis de Sales didn't know much about daylight saving time, but he did know about springing forward. He wrote: "We must sometime take a step backward in order to better spring forward."
And St Paul write in Philippians 3:4-7
Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice. Let your gentleness be known to everyone. The Lord is near. Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Happy Easter to all my Readers: Easter reminds us that the best is yet to come!
