In life when this happens, we need to stop and reflect on where we are on our journey asking ourselves, “How did I get to this present moment? What do I need to do to get myself running smoothly again?” Of course, this has to be done with God working as our mechanic.  To do this, we need to ask God two simple questions: “What part of God’s inspiration or prodding helps me to date? How can I keep God’s continued assistance active in moving forward?”

 God is the master craftsman who created us, and Jesus is his son who saved us.  He has sent his Holy Spirit and his angels to protect us and preserve us from one or more catastrophes we are not even able to recollect.  Yet these many benefits are not known or simply taken for granted. God does these because God is good and likes to bestow good things on those he loves.

 This is why every now and then, it’s a gracious gesture to stop, take a deep breath, and say, “Thank you” to the Lord for every kindness, those we know about, and the huge amount we haven’t a clue that God silently bestowed from God’s abundant generosity.

 Through his preaching, Jesus reminds us often that his loving Father is willing to risk everything he has, even his son’s life, to make certain that we arrive safely one day into his divine household.  That’s right! His Father wants everyone, you and me and everyone we love as well.  Why? Because he has an abundance of tender loving mercy when it comes to all things, especially us.

 Jesus knows that God his father loves us in much the same way he loves Jesus. God gives us the grace needed to be as faithful in loving his Father as Jesus is. It is as if everyday is Valentine’s day for God our Father and we are God’s valentine every day!

 This is why each morning when we awaken, hope is waiting for us to begin our new day and to overwhelm us with comfort and zip to go on. God made us for love and to love. He is committed to living that love for each of us for eternity.
