How Does Jesus Show Us He Cares?
When we celebrate the Eucharist, we bring the entire community together. When a community gathers to share the Eucharist, it is an important symbol of the degree of unity that can be found in that community.
The Hope desired is that differences that polarize and paralyze in our everyday lives are left behind. Why? The Eucharist is above all, a, sacrament of unity. And we desire the unity to be present.
As an ancient text says: As this fragment of bread was scattered upon the mountains and was gathered together from the ends of the earth into your kingdom” Didache 9:4. We come to Church to attend to his word and give assent to his teaching.
During the Liturgy the celebrant prays “Taking bread he says the prayer of blessing, and breaks the bread given for them and gives it to them saying” This is my body given for you, Do this in my memory of me. .We are called to reenact what Jesus did. And we do this together , and make it our own.
All together we receive Christ’s body and blood. “ You are what you eat,” , and let God do the rest. We grow gradually as we are bonded together by this sacramental identity.
And we pray what we believe: “The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not communion with the blood of Christ? Is “The bread that we break is it not communion with Christ’s body? Because the bread is one we though many are one body, because we have all eaten of the one bread(I. Cor 10:16-17.) It fulfills Christ desire “That all may be one.”
God loves and does love to care for us. In spite of ourselves, God loves to equip us to meet the challenges we either can’t or sometimes dread. That’s how much He cares. Every experience God gives us, every person God puts in our lives is the perfect preparation for the future that only he can see.
Good works done with love always bears good fruit.
Love is a driving force that blows hate away!
